We meet every Sunday
The church family at St Michael’s meets every Sunday for a variety of services to suit all needs.
We love visitors, so whether you are just passing through Braintree, or live locally and wonder what happens inside, or just have questions about the Christian faith, you are very welcome.
The details of each service are published in our weekly notices, along with the readings and songs we’ll be singing. Some services are weekly while others happen monthly.
If you’re planning your first visit, you might find our FAQs for first-time visitors helpful.
10am Morning Worship
We meet for a mix of hymns and modern songs, prayers, and a sermon from one of our ministry leaders or a guest speaker.
Creche is available at the back of the church (for pre-school aged children), and Junior Church is available for children 3 to 14 years.
Refreshments are served after the service.
4pm Holy Communion
Our traditional Holy Communion service, with spoken liturgy (no singing) using the Book of Common Prayer and a sermon. On the first Sunday of each month, in the Jesus Chapel.
6.30 Evening Worship
A service combining more modern worship songs with liturgy and a sermon.
Normally on the third Sunday evening of the month is our All Age Tonight service, an informal service for all ages from 10 to 100. The service includes music, drama, interactive activities, prayers, and a talk. Refreshments are available from 6.00 p.m. and the service starts at 6.30 p.m.
